Perry
‘In 2021, Montis asked me to design a coffee table. I was thinking of something elegant. One of the possible materials was patterned glass. I used to visit a 1930s terraced house where there was some ribbed glass in the door to the bedroom. It caught my eye every time. This glass catches the light and gives a beautiful, colour-fading effect. That material became my starting point. So I chose a construction that shows as much of the glass as possible. The bottom of the Perry is transparent, which gives a kind of blurring effect and shows – hazily – what is beneath, like the carpet. For me, this made it a visually interesting object.’
