‘Montis came to me with the idea of designing an accessory to go with the Otis sofa. We set our sights on a smart side table. I designed this table with the Otis in mind. The two needed to match visually, which inspired a certain form language. Starting from a study of shapes, I started experimenting. A side table should not only be beautiful, but also practical. You can slide the Otis side table partly over the seat of the sofa, making it easy to reach your coffee or drink. These are the kinds of things I envision and it’s lovely to see them work out nicely in the furniture.’
