‘The Axel is a sofa with a nice seat depth. The wooden body is plated with lots of elements. The outer body, with its wide back, has the perfect proportions to my mind. The whole shape of the Axel exudes comfort. I had thought of making the bench ‘floating’. I did that by placing the metal legs a bit deeper under the sofa, so you hardly see them. The arms are tapered at the front. I like a sofa that is just a sofa, powerful in its simplicity. My vision here: “A clear, seemingly simple design is the translation of the most original thought”.’
