‘I wanted to extend the concept of the Back Me Up dining chair to a model with more body. From day 1, Montis and I decided to create two variants,
the Back Me Up Lounge, which is more enveloping, and the Back Me Up Salon, which has a more open character. I wanted to create an armchair that was modest in size yet very comfortable. Plus I wanted the chair to look stunning all round, including the back. Combining different materials in one design gives the armchair more depth.’
